Why merge PDFs at all?

Almost everyone ends up with a collection of separate PDFs that belong together: several scanned pages of a single contract, a folder of receipts for one expense report, or separate exports of a presentation that should be one file. Sending five attachments instead of one is messy, and a single combined PDF is easier to store, print and share.

Merging does not edit the content of the pages — it simply puts them together into one document, in the order you choose. It is the fastest way to tidy up a set of related files.

How to merge PDFs in 3 steps

  1. Open the merger. Go to the PDF Merger. It runs entirely in your browser, so your files are never uploaded.
  2. Add your files. Drop in two or more PDFs, or click to browse. Each file is listed as a card you can inspect before merging.
  3. Reorder and download. Use the arrows to put the files in the order you want, then click Merge. The combined PDF downloads as one document.

You can add as many files as you like in a single session. Every page from every file is included in the final document.

Getting the page order right

The final document follows the order of the file list from top to bottom: everything from the first file, then the second, and so on. Before you merge, double-check the order:

If you need to move individual pages inside a single file (rather than whole files), use the Organise Pages tool instead.

When merging is not the right choice

Merging puts files side by side; it does not change their size. If your combined document becomes too large to email, compress it afterwards with the PDF Compressor.

If you only need part of a file — say a few pages from the middle of a long report — extract those pages with Organise Pages first, then merge them with the rest.

Frequently asked questions

How many PDFs can I merge at once?⌄

As many as you need. The merger accepts multiple files in one session and combines all of them into a single PDF.

Will merging change the quality of my pages?⌄

No. Merging combines the original pages without re-encoding them, so quality stays exactly the same.

Can I reorder files before merging?⌄

Yes. Use the arrows on each file card to move it up or down in the list before you click Merge.

Are my documents uploaded to a server?⌄

No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
