Why convert a PDF to JPG?
JPG is the format websites, forms and image editors understand best. When you need a single page as an image — to upload to a portal, embed in a blog post, or attach to a message — converting the PDF page to JPG is the standard approach.
Converting does not reproduce the PDF's text as editable text; it renders each page as a picture. That is exactly what you want for a screenshot, a scan to share, or an image to post. If you need to edit the text itself, use a PDF editor instead.
How to convert PDF to JPG
- Open the converter. Go to the PDF to JPG page. It runs entirely in your browser.
- Upload your PDF. Drop the file in or click to browse. Every page is processed.
- Pick a resolution. Choose a DPI that matches your need — higher for print, lower for web and email.
- Download the images. Each page is saved as a separate JPG, named after the page number.
Choosing the right resolution
- 72 DPI — perfect for web, social media and quick sharing. Small files, fast uploads.
- 150 DPI — good for screen display, presentations and most forms.
- 300 DPI — for print and official submissions where sharpness matters.
Higher resolution means sharper detail but larger files. If the images are destined for a website, keep it at 150 DPI or below. If they will be printed or reviewed closely, use 300 DPI.
Keeping text and images sharp
The output quality depends on the source document and the resolution you choose. PDFs that contain real text and vector graphics render cleanly at any resolution. Scanned pages are photos of paper, so their sharpness is limited by the scan quality — a higher DPI cannot add detail that was never captured.
Tip: if the converted JPGs are large, run them through the Image Compressor to shrink them for the web without a visible difference.
Frequently asked questions
Is converting PDF to JPG the same as taking a screenshot?⌄
No. The converter renders each full page at the resolution you choose, so nothing is cropped or cut off — the entire page becomes one image.
Will the JPGs look exactly like my PDF pages?⌄
Yes. Each page is rendered from the original file, so colours, layout and text appear as they do in the PDF.
Can I convert one specific page?⌄
The converter processes all pages and saves each one as its own JPG. Simply keep the page you need and delete the rest.
Are my files uploaded to a server?⌄
No. The conversion runs locally in your browser, so your document never leaves your device.
